Message from Prof. Jean Pierre Baeyens (Dean of Vietnam Master programs) to the alumni (HCMC)

Message from the Dean of Solvay Vietnam Master Programs

Dear Solvay Brussels School Vietnam Alumni,

I have been serving Solvay Vietnam Master Programs for many years and the School authorities have now decided to appoint me in Vietnam full time for a year in order to intensively promote our brand name, your degree and our current and new programs.

So, to start with, I would like to send to all of you my warm regards at the occasion of my appointment to your beautiful country that I love!

As you may know, we have been here in Vietnam for 16 years already, graduating more than 1,500 students from various master programs in business administration, marketing management, quality management and public management, both in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. I am very excited about giving more time to tighten the relationship with you and the School, and help create more connections among yourselves too.

To help me succeed in that task and make our operations more professional, the School has now  set up a Vietnamese team, including Le Thi Ngoc Hien <hien@solvay-ulb.org>, alumni MBAVB1, and Le Minh Duc<duc@solvay-ulb.org>, alumni MBMM4. Daniel Van Houtte who represented us in Hanoi for years, has left and Serge Bywalski, Saigon, is on sabbatical for one year.

Some news about the present

With a spirit of continuous innovation, we are making constant adjustments to the content of all of our programs, in order on one hand, to update with the newest relevant knowledge, and on the other hand, to cope with the needs and requirements of business and students which are changing day by day.

That's why we have now launched the MBA version 2.0 in Hanoi and are now recruiting for version 2.1 in Ho Chi Minh City (current intake starting by January 2012).

This "new and improved" MBA is probably the most advanced, most relevant, most exciting management course in Vietnam right now.

Some news about the future

We are launching a brand new Master of Management of Banking and Finance in Hanoi (intake 1 in June 2012). The Master of Marketing & Advertising, already operated in HCMC, will also be launched for the first time in Hanoi in June next year. We still have other projects that I will explain to you later...

To my opinion, you, as alumni, are of most value to your school. I intend to push more activities to bring additional benefits to you. I will have various contacts with different groups of alumni and we will have some activities where all the alumni can join (like our next alumni reunion on Dec 17). In the meantime, I would like you to be our ambassadors to bring to our master programs the best candidates among your friends, colleagues and others members of your network. We will care for their career promotion and will offer them the best return on their personal investment.

We will close the recruitment process on Nov 28 and we organize a last information session on Nov 15. I am sending herewith the invitation for this info session where you are welcome to join to share your experience. Enclosed is also the brochure of our new MBA so you can forward it to people in your network.
